Heavy tank that is very effective against all armored vehicles, but deals only limited anti-infantry damage. Has very strong frontal armor, but weak sides.
The Panther Heavy Tank is an elite Wehrmacht unit. In skirmishes, it is exclusively available with the Mechanized Battlegroup. For a high CP cost, it can be unlocked as a call-in ability. Alternatively, if the Unlock Panther Heavy Tank Production perk is obtained instead, the unit becomes available as a production option at the Panzer Kompanie.
The Panther is a heavy tank, featuring great durability similar to the UKFMatilda II Heavy Tank thanks to high health and armour values, although its side armour is noticeably much lower than other heavy tanks. Unlike other heavy tanks, the Panther has a far higher top speed that is similar to the Panzer IV Medium Tank. This makes the tank surprisingly speedy for featuring such high durability.
Offensively, it is armed with a powerful main cannon that is effective against all targets. It is quite similar to the weapon used by the Marder III M Tank Destroyer, featuring incredible penetration and damage at all ranges as well as similar rate of fire, although it lacks the extra range the Marder has. Unlike the Marder however, the Panther is a great deal more effective against infantry targets due to having a larger area of effect on its attacks.
At veterancy level 1 it gains the Tank Hunter passive ability, which doubles down on its powerful anti-tank capabilities. This passive allows the Panther to mark enemy vehicles it hits, making them easier to hit by any weapon and making the target visible even in the fog of war for a short duration.
Overall the Panther is an incredibly powerful generalist heavy tank, essentially acting as a superior version of the Panzer IV Medium Tank. It is overall one of the best generalist tanks in the game, but of course is very expensive in cost, upkeep, population cap, as well as having high requirements to unlock while being exclusive to a single Battlegroup.
Reaching veterancy level 1 is quite rewarding as it significantly increases its anti-tank capabilities, or at the least adds some utility to help other units fight vehicles. On the other hand, one must be wary of its flanks as its side armour is noticeably worse than comparable heavy tanks, and while it has impressive top speed its acceleration and rotation rate is slower than typical medium tanks.

Tank Hunter: Passive ability gained upon reaching veterancy level 1. Vehicle targets hit by the Panther are marked, making them easier to hit (+25% received accuracy) as well as visible, even in the fog of war, for 8 seconds. Overall an incredibly powerful passive as it improves the Panther's anti-tank capabilities, or at the very least adds some utility to aid any friendly units attempting to fight marked targets. In particular, revealing the target even through fog of war can be very powerful as it makes it possible to get extra shots off when normally out of sight range.

Smoke Canisters: Active ability only available to this unit when the Raid Package perk is obtained within the Mechanized Battlegroup. When activated, the unit drops smoke directly at its location, creating sight-obscuring smoke clouds. Useful for various purposes, especially as a defensive tool to retreat in the face of enemy fire.
